Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine

As one of the oldest continuous forms of Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been around for at least two thousand years BC. TCM encompasses Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxibustion, Herbal medicine, TuiNa (Chinese Massage) Qigong and dietary therapy. The body’s energy (comprising Yin and Yang) sustains the body, and together they make up the body’s life essence (Qi). Qi flows through the body along invisible channels (meridians).

If the Yin and Yang of our body is out of balance, it causes a blockage to our Qi, which results in illness or pain. TCM assesses our lifestyle, the impact of pollution (at home and at our workplace), diet, stress and emotions, all of which could be the cause of an imbalance in our body, resulting in illness or pain.

We are all as different as our fingerprints and therefore, every person is treated individually. The treatment may include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Patent Medicine, Cupping, Moxibustion, Electro-acupuncture, Acupressure or a combination of some of these, or alternatively all of these, depending on the individual’s assessment.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Our face is probably the most important part of our identity. It impacts on how we show up in the world and how the world reacts to us. Our faces are the mirrors of our emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual health.

Cosmetic acupuncture can be traced back as far as the Han Dynasty in China. A jade roller, used during cosmetic acupuncture, also originates from the Han Dynasty period. A cosmetic acupuncture treatment is comprehensive and takes into account your complete medical history. This acupuncture treatment is applied to the face and body.

How facial acupuncture works

It increases blood circulation in the face and stimulates the cells to produce more collagen. Improved blood circulation to the face benefits the tissues by increasing its oxygenation. It is a natural process of rejuvenation and enhances your well-being. It engages the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn has an array of health benefits for the whole body. The complexion and colour of your face is a reflection of your inner health. Therefore, it is a treatment of both the body and the face.Cosmetic acupuncture addresses the deeper issues underlying our face. According to TCM, real beauty resides in the radiation of an individual’s spirit (Shen) and the eyes

are the windows to the soul. Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural and holistic approach and avoids ill-fated side-effects. It is aimed at connecting the body, spirit and mind.

Cosmetic acupuncture is suitable for anyone at any age and may assist teenagers with acne problems.

Musculoskeletal issues

Many studies have been done on how acupuncture affects the body, especially in relieving painful and inflammatory conditions in the neck, shoulder, back, knees and ankles. Acupuncture stimulates energy along the body’s pathways and assist in the release of endorphins, dynorphins, serotonin and dopamine.  Acupuncture may therefore be an effective treatment for you if you suffer from any of these conditions.

Brad Buchanan

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy has been used in Medicine to treat patients since the 18th Century by many different cultures, yet still to this day remains one of the most fascinating phenomena of the human mind, Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention and is 100% natural and normal, people go into hypnosis many times a day.

Hypnosis is a level of focus that allows the person experiencing it to become almost completely unaware of the multiple other things that might otherwise flit in and out of the mind, the person in deep tears over a lost loved one is experiencing hypnosis, as is the person who has unintentionally clicked into a daydream state during a boring talk, no olympic weightlifter would lift a weight in competition without being in a state of hypnosis as the mind of the weight lifter is singly focused on lifting the weight.

Hypnosis is a natural state that we all enter spontaneously, Hypnosis in itself is therapeutic as it creates deep relaxation both physically and mentally, Hypnosis can be used to gain access to parts that hold unresolved issues, that sometimes bring forth feelings of fear and rejection.

During your session, Brad will guide into a deep level of hypnosis, intense concentration and focused attention, this focused attention is so intense that you will remain oblivious to anything else going on around you, this hightentend state of awareness is often called a trance.

Brad has been practicing Clinical Hypnotherapy for over a decade and Brad’s client focused approach has seen many people take back control of their lives even from the complex of issues.

Brad a helps clients take control from issues such as:
